Bewator Launches New Range of Single Door Access Control Solutions

Integrated systems specialist, Bewator, today announced the launch of the ‘Codoor’, a single door access control solution, which is the latest addition to its extensive security product range.

The Codoor, which has been the market leading code locking system in Scandinavia for ten years, is a simple and secure method of locking doors without having to resort to the use of keys. It fits doors using the Euro Lock Standard, which is produced by many of the best-known lock manufacturers in Europe.

The Codoor is extremely easy to install with its high tech design, robust casing and stylish stainless steel finish, ensuring that it fits in most environments, from exclusive offices to stores and industrial premises.

Codoor product specialist at Bewator, Paul Taylor, said: “During the past ten years Codoor has been an extremely popular and successful product in Scandinavia and we now want to share it with the UK market.

“As with all Bewator products, the Codoor has been designed with our customers’ needs in mind, helping us to produce a product that combines exceptional functionality with real value for money.   Bewator prides itself on offering its customers highly functional, robust and flexible products that are easy to install, integrate and control.”

Designed specifically for indoor installation, the Codoor range offers the flexibility to choose between two cost effective ways of securing a door with either the code lock or fingerprint reader version.

The code lock version is a practical and stylish code locking solution, ideal for commercial or residential premises where only a few internal doors need securing. Codoor removes the need for keys, taking away the hassle and cost of copying or replacing lost ones. Doors fitted with a Codoor are opened by typing in a code, minimising the risk of unwanted visitors gaining access to a restricted area – without impairing the daily activities of tenants or staff.

Bewator currently offers two versions of Codoor suited to two different types of lock standards:

·          CD3500 is suitable for lock cases with a distance of 105mm to 116mm between the centre of the door handle and the centre of the lock cylinder, and where the handle is below the lock cylinder

·          CD4000 is suitable for lock cases with a distance of 72mm between the centre of the door handle and the centre of the lock cylinder, and where the handle is above the lock cylinder.

The Codoor range also features the Fingerprint Codoor FP4000, which uses the latest biometiric technology in fingerprint reading, providing a secure and convenient way of controlling access to premises. Users have to position their finger on the reader to unlock the door removing the need for keys while offering convenience and first class security at the tip of your finger. The Fingerprint Codoor FP4000 will be available in the UK at the end of 2006.

The code lock and fingerprint versions of the Codoor are battery powered, which is fitted directly onto the door. Both products incorporate an electronic code lock, a mechanical locking device and a power unit in the same housing; which removes the need for cables and alterations to the door frame. As a result, installation is very simple and only takes a few minutes.

Codoor is suitable for the majority of doors which require a locking door handle, including storerooms, conference rooms, staff rooms and office doors. The door is locked from the outside, but can be opened with ease from the inside of the room. When the correct code is entered or the fingerprint is recognised, the door will unlock. Another accommodating feature of the range means that as customer needs change, the Codoor can be moved to another door without leaving any installation marks.

Codoor provides users with a secure, convenient and cost effective way of locking doors. Nine individual codes can be programmed, which enables different people to be issued with separate codes based on their access needs at any given time. Codes can be programmed through the key pad with repeated entry of the wrong code blocking the unit from further attempts, if the door requires unlocking for a prolonged period then use the code in position 9 to toggle the door open.
