NOTICE REGARDING THE AUTHENTICITY OF PURCHASE ORDERS ISSUED BY BEWATOR LIMITED

Unfortunately unscrupulous individuals are using Bewator Limited’s identity in an attempt to fraudulently procure items without payment.

Bewator takes this matter extremely seriously and we have informed the UK police authorities and our own solicitors.   We have collected a dossier of fraudulent paperwork from the companies that these individuals have approached and passed this on for investigation by the UK police.

How to spot a fraudulent purchase order (PO)

  • Our official purchase order stationery will not contain images that have been cut and pasted from our website - click here to view an example of fraudulent purchase orders.
  • Our PO’s will not be signed by anyone purporting to be a director of the company.   Mr Bob Cotterill is a Managing Director of the company, but he does not raise and personally authorise POs, neither does Mr Alistair Enser.
  • Due to the nature of our business model, we are unlikely to procure goods from non UK based companies.   Unfortunately, it is foreign companies that have been targeted for this scam.
  • We would never ask you to deliver goods to anywhere in the UK other than to our registered office, in Cwmbran, South Wales.   We would not ask you to deliver to addresses in London or elsewhere and we no longer trade out of Albany Street in Newport.   We definitely would never ask to collect the goods from your premises.
  • We would never only quote a UK mobile phone number as the only contact number in correspondence with you.   Our main switchboard number is +44 (0)871 386 0800.
  • The email addresses bewatorlimited@hotmail.com and bewatorltd@hotmail.co.uk are not genuine and having nothing to do with Bewator.    Genuine Bewator emails will be suffixed with the domain bewator.co.uk
  • We do not bank with any of the UK main clearing banks (Barclays, Nat West, Lloyds etc).   We would never promise to make irrecoverable credit on the basis of a letter from our bank manager.   If you have such a document in your possession, it’s fake and worthless.

What to do if you have a suspicious purchase order or suspicious enquiry

  • Do not ship the goods
  • Contact our Financial Controller, Stephen Thomas on   +44 (0)871 386 0804, or by emailing stephen.thomas@bewator.co.uk
  • Please help us combat this scam by retaining all suspicious documents so that we may hand them over to the police.
