It all began 27 years ago with a property-owner with worries.

The property-owner was Björn Wallander, and he was worried about the staircase in his property which had become a haunt for the town's drunks. He was also worried about his tenants who were forever losing their keys. And he was also worried about the newspaper delivery man, and the postman, who had to carry heavy bunches of keys around with them, wasting time as they looked for the right key.

Björn started to think and started sketching a totally new solution. The year was 1977, and that was how the idea for Bewator was born.


Company history overview

Over the years Bewator developed and grew from its founders' first solutions into an international leader in the field of Access Security.

In 2005 Siemens Building Technologies acquired Bewator to create platform for growth. Bewator then became the Centre of Competence for access control.
